1) What’s your favorite part of your job? What’s the most challenging part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is reporting – because it’s a chance to see up close how the changes we’re implementing/recommending are having an impact on clients’ sites. It’s really cool to know that I’m playing a role in helping to improve a company’s business.
The most challenging part for me is juggling different clients throughout the week. I’m managing seven clients right now, so having excellent time management skills is key to making sure no calls or deliverables are dropped. I’ve found that using Evernote and making tasks for myself in Basecamp with firm due dates really helps!
2) If you could come up with an SEO/content strategy for anything (real, fictional, past, present), who would it be? What would be your first order of business?
I would absolutely do SEO and content for the Dragonfly Inn, the inn in Stars Hollow that Lorelai and Sookie own in Gilmore Girls.
First order of business would be a local SEO strategy, ensuring their website has keyword-optimized meta data on all pages. For example, the title tag for the homepage: New England Bed & Breakfast in Stars Hollow, CT | Dragonfly Inn.
I would also make sure they were listed on relevant online directories like Yelp and Google My Business. Then, since reviews are crucial to local SEO success, I would see whether Lorelai and Sookie were asking customers to leave online reviews on social media and online directories.
3) What’s your favorite PSM memory so far?
I’ve only been here for 2 months, but so far, my favorite memory has been the float trip we took to Quinn’s house in Oconomowoc aka Broconomowoc aka the Real OC. It was really fun spending time on the lake before summer ends and it was beautiful up there!
4) If you could create a Game of Thrones spin-off series, what would it be about? What would it be called?
This is tough because I have so many favorite characters! Here are three show ideas that I think would be amazing:
“E! True Hollywood Story: The Lannisters” – Love me a celebrity exposé story. Plus, I have so many questions: Why did Cersei and Jaime start hooking up and when? Why would anyone name their child Lancel Lannister? And do the Lannisters truly pay off all their debts? This is E! True Hollywood Story. Stay tuned.
“Tormund & The Hound” – A laugh-track sitcom about two roommates, Tormund and The Hound, living together in present-day NYC, navigating work, dating, and squabbles about rent. Brienne of Tarth is a frequent guest star, and every time she enters the room, Tormund says “How you doin’?” Joey Tribbiani-style.
“The Bachelor: Jon Snow Edition” – Self-explanatory. There would be no Ygritte or Daenerys allowed, and actually I would be the only contestant and I would win. The end. (Sorry, Erick).
